One of the most expressive qualities of the human voice as a musical instrument is its ability to bend notes and glide seamlessly from one pitch to the next. Note bending is a technique that singers employ frequently, and it’s often mimicked as accurately as possible by a variety of different musical instruments. One instrument, in particular, through which you can bend notes and capture this expressive vocal texture is the harmonica.

One of the beautiful qualities of wind instruments is that, much like singing, they are directly connected to the human breath. I’m proud to present my latest musical offering,  which includes an improvisational approach to 2 classic 15th and 16th century tunes, the FIRST-EVER recording of a Telemann Canonic Sonata on 2 diatonic harmonicas, and 6 improvised compositions which I played on piano, harmonica, percussion, and keyboard, all inspired by Renaissance Music.

Putting myself into a kind of trance, I imagined myself being back in the time of the Renaissance. Come travel with me!
