[MUSIC]
Okay, now we're going to do the song,
Lonesome On'ry and Mean,
in an advanced rhythm technique.
So, let's roll this and we'll talk
a little bit about what I did afterwards.
One, two, one, two, three.
[MUSIC]
Okay
that
was
Lonesome
On'ry
and
Mean.
And I settled into a little
rhythm pattern there in using
the alternating kind of low D and
drop D strings here.
So peddling off of this D and D7 here.
So we have got, I'm holding my middle
finger on the A, little finger on the D,
and the first finger,
[MUSIC]
is covering the C when we go to the 7.
So
[MUSIC].
So that's the pattern I'm doing.
And I'm going D and
then I'm pinching the D,
I'm hitting low D and
then I'm pinching the open D and
that high D string there, so
[MUSIC].
So that's the pattern and
it's kind of complex.
[MUSIC]
I'm
hammering on
from the B note
to the 7, too.
[MUSIC]
And then when I go to my G,
since I'm drop D, I gotta slide up here to
the fifth thread,
which is now my G string.
So I am going, slide up to that.
[MUSIC]
And
then hitting that tri-tones
major third flat seven.
So
[MUSIC].
So I am going,
it's G seven add C which is the suss,
rocking back and forth between that.
[MUSIC]
And then
when I go to the C.
[MUSIC]
I want you to play this chord,
it's a C with just instead of this major
third you're hitting this D note here so.
[MUSIC]
And then back to D, so this C.
[MUSIC]
And you can incorporate all
those techniques into the same thing.
You don't have to stay with
this pattern right down here.
You could do something like this.
[MUSIC]
And
then,
[MUSIC]
So what I did there
is instead of playing
this D 7,
[MUSIC]
I'm playing that.
Well, look
[MUSIC]
When you raise
that little finger,
[MUSIC]
That gives you your suss there too, so.
[MUSIC]
Right, so
[MUSIC]
Excuse me.
[MUSIC]
So now something I want to show you here.
When we go down into this
[MUSIC]
That's your 7th too.
We've learned this shape, so,
[MUSIC]
So now we're gonna work out of this.
[MUSIC]
And that's a three note cord.
[MUSIC]
That's a little
rhythm technique too.
So this is G,
[MUSIC]
G7, cuz I'm going
[MUSIC].
So D7,
[MUSIC]
That goes right to G7.
[MUSIC]
Right back to D7 there.
[MUSIC]
Now
watch A7.
[MUSIC]
So you've got
[MUSIC]
right there to play that kind of
rhythm style stuff up.
So that's really
cool to be able to do
[MUSIC].
So that's pretty cool there,
those little rhythm styles.
So we're gonna move on from there and
get into some more harmony,
a couple two note harmony chords.
So moving right along
[MUSIC].
