Now, you've got two main challenges
in the forte sections in the slow movement
of Mozart 39.
That is pitch and shape.
Because the rhythms here, as you soon
discover when you play it through,
are easily very repetitive and tend to get
accents on each half bar.
[MUSIC]
Or even worse,
every, every bow.
[MUSIC]
It's just not that aggressive a section.
It has to fit in the same movement as the
opening that you've also studied.
So one factor in that is the vibrato up
high on the E string, as always.
Need to, to watch to control that, that it
doesn't get aggressive, wide,
that the vibrato doesn't call attention to
itself.
But your main tool is the bow, to shape
the sound.
So if you imagine bridging two bars
together.

You can shape to the higher notes so
that the, the first bar, perhaps,
isn't as strong as the second bar.
[MUSIC]
Next, you have
a series of measures
all going to a high F.
And those also should not be the same.
So you have to listen to the harmony that
goes on underneath.
For that you'll, you'll want a score.
You'll want to hear a recording.

With the ultimate goal of
saving your, your best sound for
the last bar of the excerpt just
before you arrive to the E flats,
the repeated E flats.
