In this section, you can have call and response sessions with experienced skratch djs. They'll skratch the questions, and you skratch the answers. Here, you can try to copy them or just freestyle. Try out the skratches you've learned and put them together in your own way. It's that easy!

When you get better, you can post your own call and response "sessions" for the training dojo so that others can skratch along with you too!

All right these are forward cuts.
This is, you're gonna use the fader for
the first time.
And what you're gonna do is let the sound
come in, and
you're gonna turn the fader off so you
don't hear the sound going backwards.
So, you're gonna turn the fader on.
Let the sound go.
[SOUND] Turn it off.
And then you go backwards, so
you don't hear the back space All you hear
is the forward stuff.
[MUSIC]
And of course going fast we call them
stabs or jabs.
[MUSIC]
And
a good way to practice is if, is if you
say it with your mouth.
You go.
[SOUND] I wish I had a cooler sound.
Let's try this one right here.
Here we go.
cut,cut,cut,cut,cut cut,
cut [SOUND]
And
that's how you would practice that to get-
Try to get it really clean, you know,
you gotta release the record as fast as
the platter is moving.
[SOUND]
And if you know what a sampler is,
it's kind of like a button you press and
you have the samples.
You press like on a computer, you know, it
just kinda repeats the sound.
cut,cut,cut,cut,cut,cut [SOUND] So that's
what you're tryin' to do with,
with being really clean when you release
these.
[SOUND]
And those are forwards.
Forward cuts.
