In this section, you can have call and response sessions with experienced skratch djs. They'll skratch the questions, and you skratch the answers. Here, you can try to copy them or just freestyle. Try out the skratches you've learned and put them together in your own way. It's that easy!

When you get better, you can post your own call and response "sessions" for the training dojo so that others can skratch along with you too!

'Kay, this is called a tip skratch.
It's, what you're doing is getting the
very
beginning of the scratch, which is the
tip.
Let's see where that is.
Let's play this out.
[NOISE] Cuz we want it, [NOISE] and
that's, and
that's where usually I mark the record.
Like, see this line right here?
I'll mark it right at tip, 12 o'clock.
The tip of the scratch.
What it is is just really small babies at
the very tip.
Kinda like doing stabs, you know, like
forward cuts.
[MUSIC]
More stabs.
Fast ver, fast version of cuts.
And just not using the fader.
[MUSIC]
And those are tips.
[MUSIC]
[NOISE] Can do this thing
we do called long short.
Which is a baby.
That's long.
And then the short, which is a tip.
Long, short.
Long, short.
[NOISE]
Try it with
scribble.
[MUSIC]
And those are tips.
