[MUSIC]
Here's Kinlock of Kinlock.
[MUSIC]
So, that was Kinlock of Kinlock.
I don't remember where I picked this up,
it may well be in the O'Neill's book of
Irish fiddle tunes.
[MUSIC]
And, just a really pretty tune.
Almost exclusively in the single string
style, certainly the A part.
And so, you're doing a lot of alternating
thumb.
[MUSIC]
And, it's in the key of C.
[MUSIC]
So,
you're kind of working out of the C
position at the beginning.
[MUSIC]
I'm keeping that index down
on the first fret of the second string and
so you have that sense of,
C-ness, as you're going through this.
[MUSIC]
So, thumb, index, thumb, index, thumb,
index, thumb, index.
Thumb.
Sorry, index, thumb.
Index.
It's just all alternating.
[MUSIC]
So, working out of the C position,
like I said.
[MUSIC]
Bring that second fret
of the fourth string down.
[MUSIC]
And, it's in 6/8 time.
It's a jig one, two, three, four, five,
six.
One, two, three.
One, two, three.
One, two, three, one, two, three, one,
two, three, one.
[MUSIC]
It has this great lilt to it, so-
[MUSIC]
And now, you go to an F chord, but
I'm keeping the first string open.
So, the index is still there, which is
part of the F chord, and
then the middle on the second fret of the
third string.
[MUSIC]
And then,
the ring gets added on the third fret of
the fourth string.
[MUSIC]
Back to C.
[MUSIC]
And so, it's-
[MUSIC]
I'm going middle to ring in the left hand.
[MUSIC]
And, for
the two to three at the end of measure
four and then back to measure five.
[MUSIC]
Which you've already played this,
these notes.
First ending.
[MUSIC]
Then, I let go of that two so
you have the separation of notes
[MUSIC]
And, and then,
at the end of that first ending, you've
got two 16th notes.
[NOISE] And, back, back to the beginning.
[MUSIC]
Second ending.
So, open first string.
So, I'm going middle, thumb, middle, I'm
sorry, middle, thumb, middle, middle and
then, I go back to the single string,
thumb, index, thumb, index, thumb, index.
[MUSIC]
Back to the middle, thumb, middle, thumb,
measure 13.
[MUSIC]
Finally, we get a forward roll.
Which is just how it works out in my
arrangement of this.
So, the index on the fifth fret of the
first string.
[MUSIC]
Then,
the fifth string becomes the beginning of
the forward roll.
[MUSIC]
Ring on the seventh fret of the second.
[MUSIC]
Back to the fifth fret of
the first string.
[MUSIC]
Sorry, and then,
[MUSIC]
So, for measure 13.
[MUSIC]
And, I start with the index.
I've got the ring on the 7th fret of the
first.
[SOUND] Middle on the sixth fret of the
second.
[SOUND] And, I'm going index, thumb,
index.
And, alternating now the ring and middle
on the fifth fret of the first and
second strings.
[SOUND] So, index, thumb.
Index, thumb.
Index, thumb.
Down two frets.
Index, thumb.
Index.
So, index, thumb.
Index, thumb.
Index, thumb.
Index, thumb.
Index, thumb
[MUSIC] Index. [MUSIC]
Thumb.
[MUSIC]
So,
you're just completely alternating
starting with this position,
starting with the index.
[MUSIC]
And,
there's a pull of there, I'm doing a two
to zero pull off on the first string.
[MUSIC]
And then, it's in measure 15.
[MUSIC]
Sorry.
[MUSIC]
And then, measure 16.
[MUSIC]
Thumb, index, thumb, and
then a backward roll.
[MUSIC]
Part B, again.
[MUSIC]
And, once more, up the tempo.
[MUSIC]
So, for this section, starting measure 14,
you gotta move quickly from these thirds
from one to the next.
[MUSIC]
Kinloch of Kinloch.
[MUSIC]
