Happy Summer!... and happy first anniversary!
Congratulations to all you great fiddlers out there in Fiddle-land.
I'm happy that we have had one year of the great school, and I'm really happy about what's coming this summer! I'll be teaching at a bunch of great Fiddlistical events this summer: The Mark O'Connor String Symposium, The Mt. Shasta String Summit, and the venerable Augusta Heritage program in Elkins, West Virginia. I hope to get footage and interviews about crucial fiddling issues from many of the great players out there, and then bring them back here to the school for everyone's enjoyment. I'll keep posting all kinds of great tunes and ideas and of course our incredible fiddle community will share their discoveries too. In another year, we'll have one of the most amazing fiddle libraries anywhere; a treasure trove of applied knowledge about fiddle playing.
In the pipeline:
* A hilarious and very informative interview with my old buddy Matt Glaser, head of the string and roots department at the famed Berklee School of Music.
* The ArtistWorks Staff are toiling away on the new beginning and jazz lessons I recorded last February, and they promise that they will have them up soon!
* More amazing double fiddle interviews and information about that art.
* great interviews and performance footage from the Grey Fox, Indiana Fiddlers' Gathering and String Summit music Festivals!
* and more detailed responses to your video lessons!
Please stay tuned to this school, and let your fiddling friends know about us too...
and thanks for everything you do you make this school a great place to hang out online.
All The Best,
Darol
