Dear Faculty and Students,

ArtistWorks CEO Patricia Butler has been kind enough to forward all your posts about Jeannie to me. My spirits lift as I read all your caring sentiments. I have been Jeannie’s husband for 35 years and her manager for the last 25 of those. I want to let you know that Jeannie’s last days were peaceful as was her final departure. While I grieve her departure, I remind myself how blessed I am to have lived and worked all these wonderful years with such a life affirming artist.

Jeannie has always been devoted to helping her voice students become the singer they aspired to be and achieving their goals.  Before she left us, Jeannie was very relieved to know that Jennifer Truesdale, her good friend and her most expert Deva Method teacher was able to help her Artistworks students. Jennifer is a wonderful person and a consummate professional musician and teacher. I trust her completely to give you the quality of instruction you deserve.

Thanks again to everyone at Artistworks for all they are doing to continue Jeannie’s legacy.

Very Sad to hear about Jeannie

jhoward levy with eannie deva and paul gilbert at namm

I had the good fortune of hanging out and playing a little set with Jeannie and Paul Gilbert at NAMM a few years ago. She was a wonderful person with a sparkling spirit. After we played, she also insisted that I go with her to the TC Helicon booth and try the FX 150, a great little monitor speaker/thru box that they make. It wasn't out on the market yet. I was so impressed - it was perfect for harmonica as she said it would be. I bought one as soon as it came out. That's the way she was - a great, charismatic performer, and always thinking about how she could help people, too. It is a rare combination of traits... I am so glad that I got to know her a little, and so sorry that she had to pass so soon. My condolences to her family and all the members of her school.

With a heavy heart, we say goodbye Jeannie

NAMM 2015

NAMM is the largest most prestigeous Music Industry Trade Show in the world.

It is not open to the general public, and thousands of companies and musicians (such as Stevie Wonder) attend. It takes place each year in Southern California. This year as I did last year, I attended through my membership in the Grammy's.

I had several on camera interviews includng some interviews about different singer-gear at company booths such as Sennheiser, TC-Helicon and Hercules Stands.

I also had meetings with a number of other mic and music equipment companies.

A number of companies will be sending me new equipment to test and review which I'll share with all my ArtistWorks voice students as it happens.
