Let's
talk about the melodic minor form of a
scale.
In, in Level one, we learned the natural
form and harmonic.
And I told you there were three forms of
minor scale.
Well, in level two, you're going to learn
the third form, which is melodic.
So, let's take.
E minor scale, which is related to G
major.
So, it has that one sharp F sharp.
So here's E minor in it's natural form.
[MUSIC]
So
melodic we raised the sixth and seventh
notes, when we're going up the keyboard.
And when we're going down we lower them
back.
So it's just in the natural form.
So let's go up to the sixth note.
1,2,3,4,5,6 here's our sixth note, so
we're gonna raise it a half step.
Normally our seventh note is the D, so
we're gonna raise that a half step.
So now our form going up is.
[MUSIC]
And then coming down,
we're gonna lower them back down just to
the natural form that they were before.
[MUSIC]
So melodic minor scales,
are different going up and going down.
Let's do it one more time.
[MUSIC]
Five, six, seven.
Lowering it back down.
[MUSIC]
So, you get to play you're
minor scales in level two, all three
forms, Natural, Harmonic and Melodic.
