“I've been a student with Martin Taylor at ArtistWorks since 2012, on and off. Sometime I quit being a member for a couple of years, but Martin's lessons are always pulling me back again. I've learned such a lot. I'm playing guitar for almost 50 years, but being a student with Martin Taylor I've learned more in 1 year than the previous 40 years. To mention some things I've learned: polyphonic playing with moving lines, comping, walking bass, inner dynamics, playing with different dynamics, using your ears instead of scales, improvisations and varying a melody. This is not a course for absolute beginners. You need to be able to finds notes on the fingerboard, play bar chords on 6th and 5th strings, play single lines with your fingers, etc. There is tab available, but using your ears and copying the sounds Martin plays is also very valuable. A good companion to this course is the book: "Martin Taylor: beyond chord melody".”
