An influential jazz bassist, composer, and educator, he has performed with Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, and B.B. King. Known for his versatility across jazz, classical, Brazilian, and pop music, he serves as Artist in Residence at Berklee's Global Jazz Institute.
