Hey everybody in the USA...I'll be playing 15 concerts with my old bandmates Bela, Victor and Futureman from June 1- 16. http://www.flecktones.com/tour

It will be hard for me to answer videos during this time, though I will try on my 2 days off. We rehearse May 29-31, so the total immersion will begin then. I will try to come up for air now and then and let you know what I'm up to, but my response times to your videos will DEFINITELY be longer, so send some now- Saturday May 28 is the last day I can respond for at least a week.

All the best,

Howard

For all Chicago area students- I posted this on my Facebook pages, the regular one and my Fan Page, but just wanted to let all you people know as well.

For my only Evanston appearance for the foreseeable future, I put together a wonderful group for the May 21 Fundraiser for the Unitarian Church of Evanston.

The concert is at 7:30pm. You can get tickets here: www.ucevanston.org

I'm starting to practice for this. We'll be out from June 1- 16. http://flecktones.com/

We'll be playing tunes from the first 3 CD's, "Rocket Science", and some things from the 16+ years when I wasn't in the bandsmiley

Hope to see some of you at our shows.

I'll be doing this: http://www.evanstonsymphony.org/?gclid=COfGouDD4coCFQymaQodpBMMwg

I hope some of you can come. And if not, serenade a loved one with a tender tune on the harp.

Howard Levy was the featured guest on the 1st episode of "Harmonicast", which is a new podcast from Bob Kessler which is all about, you guessed it, harmonica. Listen on the player above and you can check out more episodes at the link here

jhoward levy with eannie deva and paul gilbert at namm

I had the good fortune of hanging out and playing a little set with Jeannie and Paul Gilbert at NAMM a few years ago. She was a wonderful person with a sparkling spirit. After we played, she also insisted that I go with her to the TC Helicon booth and try the FX 150, a great little monitor speaker/thru box that they make. It wasn't out on the market yet. I was so impressed - it was perfect for harmonica as she said it would be. I bought one as soon as it came out. That's the way she was - a great, charismatic performer, and always thinking about how she could help people, too. It is a rare combination of traits... I am so glad that I got to know her a little, and so sorry that she had to pass so soon. My condolences to her family and all the members of her school.

The trio of Howard Levy, Miles Levy, and Larry Gray will be featured tonight on Steve Rashid's new show, "Chicago Jazz Live" on WDCB Jazz Radio. http://wdcb.org/programming/program.php?id=143

This is from a live concert from last year, also on youtube- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tofedSguVS0

The first tune is a free improvisation. 5 of the tunes are transcriptions of free improvs from the "First Takes" CD released last year on Balkan Samba Records. I hope some of you check out the radio show and the video. I play a lot of piano on this as well.

Everyone- I apologize for not answering comments for a month or so. There was a problem that lasted a while. I couldn't reply to anything. This was fixed around Dec. 1, but I got really busy with things and didn't check it until today...

I just answered about 10 comments. PLEASE don't be shy about commenting. I have always answered promptly in the past, and now that everything is fixed I will answer them every day or two again, just as I used to.

Wishing everyone success and happiness playing the harp, Howard
