Habits Level 1 Muscular Lesson number 8.
Our notes will change again.
We're gonna have new skips this week.
Metronome 72.
Muscle builders right hand.
Skipping between fingers two and three.
Down curve, relax, straight up, down
curve, relax,
straight up, that's where our skip is this
week.
Down curve, relax, straight up, down
curve, relax, straight up, down curve,
relax, straight up.
Make sure you say your steps out loud.
If your voice gets tired, have your mom
come in and say the steps.
Straight up, down curve, relax, skip.
Straight up, down curve, relax.
Straight up, down curve, relax.
Straight up.
By skipping between different fingers each
time,
it makes our individual fingers stronger.
This week we're working on finger two
being really strong.
Straight up, down curve.
Relax.
Skip, straight up.
So just keep that two curved while the
third finger lifts.
Relax, straight up.
Make sure as you're lifting, that the
finger's staying down, stays curved.
Don't let it wobble.
Here's a bad example, where I let it
wobble in.
Don't let it, that happen.
[MUSIC]
Relax, straight up.
Keep it firm.
Don't move.
[MUSIC]
We don't wanna see any fingers all
like this.
Relax.
Straight up, down curve, relax.
Straight up, down curve, relax.
Straight up, down curve relax.
Straight up, down curve, relax.
Straight up, down curve.
And keep going until your thumb again is
on high C.
Left hand, we're skipping a note between
fingers four and three.
So our, we're gonna really work on
strengthening finger four.
Down curve, relax, straight up, down
curve, relax, skip, straight up, down
curve, relax, straight up, down curve,
relax, straight up, relax, straight up.
Here's what it looks like if I wanna keep
my thumb on the key.
Relax, straight up, down curve,
relax, straight up, down curve, relax,
straight up.
Down curve, relax, straight up.
Down curve, relax, straight up.
Down curve, relax, straight up.
Down curve, relax, straight up.
Down curve, relax, straight up.
Straight up, down curve, relax, straight
up.
Down curve, relax, straight up.
Down curve, relax, straight up.
Down curve, relax.
Again I put my hand to the side to help
lift my four higher.
That's okay.
Down curve, relax, straight up.
Down curve, relax, straight up.
If you can't play as loud as I am it's
better that your form is good.
So if you're having trouble with the form,
play softer and don't come down as
quickly.
With time, you'll have the strike and
the firm tips where you can come down loud
and fast.
Form first, then speed, and then you get
loud after that.
You'll get there.
Relax, straight up, down curve.
And you keep going till fifth finger's on
middle C.
And now the skips with power fingers.
Skipping between two and three right hand.
[MUSIC]
First focus on form.
When your form is great, then you can
start pushing in stronger and stronger,
really getting those tips firm.
[MUSIC]
Continuing on to C, left hand.
[MUSIC]
Continuing on to middle C.
So your practice chart this week is going
to have muscle builders,
right hand at metronome 72, skipping
between two and three.
Left hand muscle builders at 72 skipping
bet,
between fingers four and three.
I need you to write this on your chart or
else your going to forget what speed and
what fingers you're skipping.
So just write it on your chart,
you'll have it right in front of you all
the time.
And then you should also have on your
chart power fingers right hand,
metronome 72.
And power fingers left hand, metronome 72.
[MUSIC]
