Practising
is a key element in essential habits two,
just like it was in habits level one.
So, each assignment I'll tell you exactly
how to practice,
whether it be playing the piece five times
per day, and
giving yourself an evaluation for each
play through.
If you play it through with errors, you
can mark an x.
If you play it through perfectly, you can
mark a star.
Or, using the Fern method for
new musical pieces, where you go through
the different aspects of Fern, fingering,
expression, rhythm and notes, focusing on
a different part for each play through.
And then at the end,
giving yourself an evaluation of which
parts of Fern that you did successfully.
So this is the same kind of practice
method that we did in essential habits
one, and practising is key to your success
in the Perry curriculum.
So, you have to know how to practice and
follow the practice directions
specifically.
So make sure you really listen for that
part of the lesson when I tell you,
what your practice chart needs to look
like,
how many times per day you need to be
doing each assignment.
This will ensure that you're able to
accomplish your lesson goals each week.
