number 2.
So this week our skips are going to
I bet you already know this pattern by
We're going to skip now between fingers
two and three in right hand.
And skipping between fingers four and
three in left hand.
Our metronome speed is going up.
We're doing this just to get a lot of
repetition and we're also getting faster.
So we're working on our speed.
So set your metronome to 88.
You're going to perform this exercise one
which means all the way up from c to c.
So really you're going through eight keys.
And that's one time per
day you're going to do that for each hand
in muscle builders and power fingers.
So here is muscle builders.
Keeping between two and three, and four
and three.
Ready, go.
Down curve, relax, straight up.
Down curve,, relax, skip, straight up.
Down curve,, relax, straight up.
So when your position gets really great
your finger tips are getting burned, we're
gonna work on speed of the tap.
You see how I lift and then come down as
fast as I can.
It makes a really bright sound, really
sharp sound.
[SOUND] And the more you play on your tips
the sharper the sound is going to be.
This is the hardest position.
So that's why we learn it first, because
everything else after this is easy.
And if you don't learn this first you'll
never learn it.
This will give you all the sounds variety
that you'll want to have.
Straight up, down curve, relax, straight
up, down curve.
Keep saying your steps.
Relax, straight up, down curve.
All right, I'll stop there, but you keep
going all the way to c, got it?
[LAUGH] Okay.
Now let's do power fingers.
This is just for demo.
You go all the way from c to c.
Here we go.
Ready, go.
You can do a little push if you're ready.
If not, just keep it really on the key,
working on those firm tips wherever you
Here's if you're still working on firm
You can play lighter, just focusing on
those curves.
Feel that fingernail.
As you get firmer tips,
you can play louder.
