This
is Peery habits level 3, musical number
15.
So this week you're going to practice in
preparation to become Peery certified on
Minuetto.
Keep practicing Bouncing on My Bed and
Flying Like an Eagle, or
To Fly Like an Eagle if you haven't passed
those already.
So we're going to go through that same
thing we've done in those other two
pieces, and we're going to do that in
Minuetto to prepare.
So let's talk about our goal speeds.
In Minuetto to become Peery certified,
you need to have it at a minimum of
metronome 92, and then, one, or to 116.
116 is fine.
On the music, it is written, also, you can
go up to 126.
That's fine, as well, as long as all the
details are there.
So remember, speed is the least important
thing.
You wanna make sure all of your details
are there.
So I'm gonna play Minuetto at 92, just to
demonstrate how that's gonna sound in
case that's the speed you choose to
certify.
[SOUND]
Remember,
don't play with metronome when you send in
your video to certify.
I'm just putting it on here so we can hear
that tick.
Ready, go.
[MUSIC]
And here's what it would sound like at
metronome 126.
But like I said you can do any speed in
between 96 and 126.
[MUSIC]
Okay.
So the first step, as always.
You can say it with me, is to find out
what metronome speed you
can play this at perfectly with all your
steps of FERN.
Then you need to decide your goal speed,
so
what speed you really wanna work towards.
Remember it can be anything from 92 to 116
to 126 if
you really want to go super fast.
Then you need to figure out how many
speeds there are in between what speed you
have it now and your goal speed.
I need you to set daily goals of I'm going
to reach this many speeds per day.
And you need to practice the piece until
you reach your goal each day.
Do a minimum of five times.
So even if you reach your goal after one
time, keep practicing five times and
see if you can even get ahead of your goal
for that day.
If you only practice one time a day, if
you're really lucky and
play it perfectly on your first try, then
you're gonna pay for it the next day.
It's gonna be harder for you to do it.
So keep up with the five times every day,
mark your final speed for
the day on the chart, so you know just
where to start the next day.
You're going to do this for lessons 15,
and for lesson number 16.
So when you're ready, you can send me in
the video and become Peery certified.
Work really hard this week.
