In this section, you can have call and response sessions with experienced skratch djs. They'll skratch the questions, and you skratch the answers. Here, you can try to copy them or just freestyle. Try out the skratches you've learned and put them together in your own way. It's that easy!

When you get better, you can post your own call and response "sessions" for the training dojo so that others can skratch along with you too!

[MUSIC]
I'm gonna
do some pyramids right now this is kinda a
cool scratch because it sounds like this.
[MUSIC]
There's three notes.
[MUSIC]
There's a dip in there.
And then you have a pullback.
[MUSIC]
All right, so let's do it real slow.
So you got your dip.
You got your first two notes, [NOISE]
that's the drag,
[NOISE] the the up, and then you gotta
pull back.
[NOISE] You can say it with your mouth, to
help you, you know.
It's kinda like.
[MUSIC]
Oh, eek.
Oh, chip.
Whatever you wanna say, you know, whatever
helps.
[MUSIC]
And that is a pyramid scratch.
[SOUND] So
when I drag it you can there are different
ways of dragging you can use your palm.
[SOUND]
I'm on fresh right now.
[SOUND]
So you kinda see my hand is dragging.
[SOUND]
And then giving it a push.
[NOISE] Some, some people would like to do
that with their whole palm like this,
kinda like where the sound can continue
and it's kinda even.
[NOISE] Or you can use your thumb.
[NOISE] My thumb's right here.
[MUSIC]
[NOISE] Whatever it takes to get
that sound or whatever.
[MUSIC]
[NOISE] And
on the fade I'm just transforming it.
[MUSIC]
You
can do other things you can do a one
click.
[MUSIC]
I've never tried this before, but
let's try a crab on it.
Yeah, that works, yeah.
You can do whatever technique you want on
that.
I guess you could fade it.
[MUSIC]
But that is the pyramid scratch.
[MUSIC]
Yep, pyramid scratch.
