In this section, you can have call and response sessions with experienced skratch djs. They'll skratch the questions, and you skratch the answers. Here, you can try to copy them or just freestyle. Try out the skratches you've learned and put them together in your own way. It's that easy!

When you get better, you can post your own call and response "sessions" for the training dojo so that others can skratch along with you too!

[MUSIC]
Alright here's a scratch called Lazer.
This is something I came up with back in,
I don't know, the late eighties or
whatever.
But I saw a bongo player playing on the
bongos, and I was like, hm,
I wonder if you can do that to a turntable
so I.
[SOUND]
Well, as you see, I,
I've got the power off, you can do it with
the power off or the power on, whatever.
[SOUND]
I was actually trying to do
a paradiddle right there, the right, left,
right, right, left, right, left, left.
Let's try that.
[MUSIC]
[LAUGH] Whatever.
But those are lasers.
And it's kinda like the predecessor to
tasers.
[SOUND]
You can do them,
like said, with two hands.
[SOUND]
Or one finger, and
we're gonna get into tasers later, which
is doing it up here.
So, once again, really slow.
We can do with the power off to make it
really slow.
Just kinda fling the record.
[SOUND] You know?
[SOUND]
Make it any speed you want.
[LAUGH] Those are lasers.
