In this section, you can have call and response sessions with experienced skratch djs. They'll skratch the questions, and you skratch the answers. Here, you can try to copy them or just freestyle. Try out the skratches you've learned and put them together in your own way. It's that easy!

When you get better, you can post your own call and response "sessions" for the training dojo so that others can skratch along with you too!

All right, we just did one click flares.
Now let's do two click flares.
This is a little more trickier.
Actually, one click flare is pretty tricky
too.
That's, that was kind of harder than
learning the two click flare.
For me, anyway.
So, what you're gonna do is, is.
The sound, right.
Or any sound.
You pick.
And you're gonna do two clicks.
One, two.
And it's gonna make three sounds.
Right.
So once again the secret is leave the
fader open and end open.
So the sounds gonna come in first and then
you do the two clicks.
So here you go watch I'll do it really
slow.
All right.
So I did two clicks and it made three
sounds.
One, two, three.
Backwards, I'm gonna do backwards one,
two, three, but just by doing two clicks.
[MUSIC]
Get that?
Here we go again.
[MUSIC]
The three on the four,
three on the back, so it makes six notes
and that's a orbit.
[MUSIC]
All right.
So once again.
[MUSIC]
All right.
Three notes.
Three notes back with two clicks.
[MUSIC]
Kinda tricky, but if you know what's going
on, you can just practice that and stuff.
I remember when we first got that scratch.
It was DJ Disc who kinda ran into it.
He was trying to do the original flare.
Which was this one.
[MUSIC]
But he came up with something else with
the same amount of clicks, cuz if the
original player is two clicks.
One, two, there's three notes.
[MUSIC]
But
then he, instead of doing a baby he just
kept the record going forward and
backward [NOISE] you can, it did kind of a
longer baby.
[MUSIC]
Anyway, that's how you do a, an orbit.
Everyone's kind of puzzled by it, but
that's a two click flare,
also known as an orbit.
[SOUND]
[MUSIC]
Practice that.
