In this section, you can have call and response sessions with experienced skratch djs. They'll skratch the questions, and you skratch the answers. Here, you can try to copy them or just freestyle. Try out the skratches you've learned and put them together in your own way. It's that easy!

When you get better, you can post your own call and response "sessions" for the training dojo so that others can skratch along with you too!

[MUSIC]
When you guys,
when you get all that, you can like break
down all these phrases and stuff and.
Let's see if there's some phrases on here.
[MUSIC]
Yes.
[MUSIC]
All right, that's another scratch, another
drum scratch right there.
We can keep on going on and on because
drumming,
can incorporate all the scratches.
Let's do another one right here.
All right, so this drumming technique is,
how to just keep continuing this,
this scratch, the drum scratch by using
syllables, right?
So, this one goes
[MUSIC]
Da da da da da.
Right, so those are 16 notes, and we're
just going to continue that.
From the last scratch that we had just
learned.
[SOUND]
All right?
[SOUND]
All right,
so what that is, if I do it slow, it'll
be.
[SOUND]
All right, it'll be about.
It'll be that scratch we were talking
about earlier.
[SOUND]
All right, real slow.
[SOUND]
So, what I'm doing again.
I'm scratching the sound, after the next
note gets played.
So, releasing it.
[SOUND]
See that?
I'm just transforming that little baby.
[SOUND]
Right,
now i'm just going backwards, you can just
pull it back and just keep, continue that.
[MUSIC]
Alright, so if you get
that scratch then you
can start breaking down
phrases, alright?
All right, and you can incorporate your
boomerangs and all that.
[SOUND]
And you can incorporate your, delayed
flares.
[SOUND]
All right so, those were a lot of drumming
type of tips, and I hope those help you
out.
There's a lot more but for now we'll,
we'll mess with those all right so let's
recap what kind of drumming we did.
[SOUND]
So you got the
[MUSIC]
all right then,
you got the banana rama boo mama.
[MUSIC]
And
you got warp drums which is boomerang
drums.
[MUSIC]
And
then you've got delayed flares [SOUND]
which is a triplet.
And then you got, transforming after the
second sound.
[SOUND]
Then you got, the continuous one.
Let's see ,where is that.
Let's use, oh let's use this record right
here.
So this is, you're gonna scratch once
again, same as last one,
you're gonna scratch the second sounds,
which is, let's see.
[SOUND]
Oh let's try this right here, so
we're gonna try the second sound
[SOUND]
Right there.
That's an original flair.
See, see what I'm saying?
You can use all the skratches in the
lessons, apply that to drumming,
you come up with some other stuff.
[MUSIC]
So, let's talk about that now.
lets add on another thing.
Drumming with the original flair, all
right?
[SOUND]
Right, once again the original flare is
[SOUND]
Right.
So that's in the lesson to breaking down
an airboat.
Right now we're gonna talk about, doing
that on drums, right.
[MUSIC]
All right, now that's another one right
there.
Came across, a three click crescent flare.
All right, so pretty quick crescent flair.
Flairs, is this.
[SOUND]
Right, so if you apply that to drumming,
you're going to take a two notes.
[SOUND] And you can do the crescent flare
over that.
[SOUND]
All right,
so check out the crescent flare in the
lessons and try that over drums.
Try the original flare over drums, and you
come up with some crazy stuff.
[SOUND]
