In this section, you can have call and response sessions with experienced skratch djs. They'll skratch the questions, and you skratch the answers. Here, you can try to copy them or just freestyle. Try out the skratches you've learned and put them together in your own way. It's that easy!

When you get better, you can post your own call and response "sessions" for the training dojo so that others can skratch along with you too!

What's up y'all?
We're going to do a special class of four
original flares.
You're like, what the hell?
I thought there was just one.
There's one, there's a reverse one.
But, there's two forward ones.
And, two reverse ones.
So, let's start with the first one, all
right?
This is a OG flare right here, probably
recognize this one.
Which one did we show off?
[SOUND] Oops.
[SOUND]
All right?
So, this one is like, cut the sound right
here,
and you cut the sound at the transition.
That makes three notes.
One, two, three.
All right?
That goes like this.
So, remember the faders open, right?
I'll put this in regular fader.
Cut the sound in half.
[SOUND] Then, you stop at the end and come
back.
So, i'll do slow motion here.
[SOUND]
See?
[SOUND]
Get that?
Do real slow motion as much as I can.
[SOUND]
That's all that is, all right?
[SOUND]
So, remember the faders always open.
Everyone gets confused like, they're
always start with the faders closed and
trying to [SOUND] They try to do like a
transform thing, but it's not.
It's like, the secret with this is the
fader is open, right?
So, you let the sound come in, you cut it
in half, and
stop it right before you come back.
[MUSIC]
And, that's it.
[SOUND]
All right?
[SOUND]
Real slow, as slow as I can.
[SOUND]
All right?
[SOUND]
Really slow.
[SOUND]
Super slow.
[SOUND]
Right?
So, that's what happens.
Anyway, let's move on.
So, the next scratch would be same thing
here, right, forward, backward.
And, this time, instead of doing this cut,
that flare right there,
we're gonna do the flare over here,
allright?
But, we're gonna start the first one on
the transition.
And, we're gonna do that flare right
there, bam.
So, that one would be forward, and then on
the back,
then that's when you cut it in half
[SOUND] All right?
Let's do that in reverse, because.
So, let the sound come in and
just stop it right at the end [SOUND] All
right?
And then, you come back.
[SOUND]
[MUSIC] Okay?
Anyway, let's just keep moving forward.
So, that's that one right there.
So, let's, let's do both.
So, that's,
[MUSIC]
and,
the other one is
[MUSIC]
[SOUND]
the other one is.
[SOUND]
All right?
So, those are those two.
Now, there's two reverse of those
obviously.
We're going to do, the,
[SOUND]
It'll be that one right there.
Now, it would be there.
Is that right?
Yeah.
So, that one is.
Let me see.
Just making sure that's not the exact same
thing as that.
It's different, right?
Okay.
So, that one is on the back
start with the reverse fader open.
Kinda like, move the four, scratch four
because you're going to start in reverse.
Come back.
[SOUND] Oops.
[SOUND]
Get that?
All right.
[SOUND]
Real slow motion.
[NOISE] Cutting the sound in half and
stopping at the end.
[NOISE] Don't hurt
yourself on it.
[NOISE] All right.
So, that's that and the fourth one is.
Reflection of this one, which would be.
That's another thing.
So the, these is.
These are like.
This is a mirror right here.
Right?
This is how I do this.
This is a mirror.
And, these two right here.
Cuz that's a mirror.
Mirror is that.
Reflection is like the reflection in, in,
in water.
Right?
So, let's say this is water right here.
So, this is a reflection, that is how you
get four different ones.
So, this is a reflection, the reflection
of this would be like that, bam, bam!
All right?
So, that one is, you are going to
start reverse, once again, faders open and
you cut it off at the transition.
And then, on the first part you go.
Right?
So, four different types of OG flares,
all right?
Little thing you can mess with.
And, that applies to all of the skratches.
So, so, if you get like a Prizm,
and you put that up there, you could do a
mirror version, and a reflection version.
And, a forward one, and a backward one.
So, that would make four types of Prizms.
All right.
And, other skratches too.
So, try to experiment with different
drawings and skratches and find you'll see
more with a mirror and reflection.
