Hey all,

Hoping all is well. The last few weeks have been really great for me, many new song releases that made it all the way to the top of the charts.

1. ARASHI "Japonism"-album has been Nr 1 in Japan now for almost three weeks now selling approx 900k physical albums (more than 3x Platinum) so far, which is amazing numbers these days.

This band is the most popular boy band in Japan and the song "The Deep End" is my first release with this legendary group. During it's first week of sales, the Japonism-album was the best selling album in the world according to the Global album chart.

2. EXO, another huge Korean boy band just made their debut in Japan with the "Love Me Right"-single including my co-write "Drop That". This release is currently Nr 1 on the single chart in Japan and has sold approx 110k copies so far which means Gold record status.

3. f(x) the very popular Korean girl group released their new album "4 Walls" including my co-write "Glitter". This album is on top of the album chart in Korea as well as the Billboard World Music chart in the US.

4. I also wrote Korean boyband SHINee's single "Sing a song" that has sold approx 50k physical albums so far in Japan and was topping the single chart on the day of it's release.

Very proud and excited to have written all these songs that reaches out to millions of people. On Glitter and Drop That I also added some guitars :) Many more releases coming up at the end of this year...very thankful to be able to create new music on a daily basis.

Hey all,

Summer is soon over and autumn is coming little by little. I'm hoping all of you have had a great summer with many memorable musical moments. I've had a great summer but not much vacation though, been working really hard on finishing a lot of songs for the fall/winter releases in Japan and Korea. I also have a few songs coming out this fall with European artists in countries such as Spain and Romania.

I wanna take the opportunity to congratulate the legendary Danish violin maestro Svend Asmussen on his 99 1/2 birthday, which took place this past Friday. Svend has been active on the international music scene since the 1930's and he has had the opportunity to play with pioneers like Duke Ellington, Django Reinhardt, Stephane Grappelli, Fats Waller, Lionel Hampton and many more throughout his long carrer. Inspired by players like Joe Venuti, Stuff Smith and Grappelli, Svend created a swinging fidle style of his own and became a big star not only in Scandinavia but also world wide.

Hey all,

I'm hoping everybody had a fantastic summer season so far. I'm back in Sweden now after several weeks in Korea and a vacation in Spain. I'm very happy and proud to be part of the Nr 1 best selling in the world last week.
The South Korean boy band Super Junior's latest release "Devil", including my co-write "Forever with you" made it to the top after selling approx 85 000 physical albums during its 2nd week (currently at a total of 140k albums).
The song is a catchy funk/disco number with inspiration from legendary 70's acts like Earth Wind & Fire, Kool & the Gang and Stevie Wonder. It has a lot of live instruments in the production and there is also a big vocal arrangment that I did together with one of my co-writers.

Let's get started practicing alot of guitar again now when summer is soon coming to an end. Looking forward seeing many new student submissions in the master class area.
There will also be new lessons and performances posted soon. As always, let me know if u have any questions, the forums are always open.

Best Regards Andreas

Les Paul 100 year anniversary!

Hey all,

Today on the 9th of June 2015, the legend Mr Les Paul would have turned 100 years old. As you might know he wasn't just the godfather/inventor of the electric guitar but also the pioneer and inventor of the multi-track recording and overdubbing, which were both enormous milestones in the history of music recording.

Les passed away in 2009 at the age of 94, leaving behind a legacy of great guitar playing, guitars and inventions. He is missed by many but his memory lives on forever.

I had the pleasure of knowing Les and at his 91st birthday concert at Iridium NYC in June 2006, I was invited to perform a few songs with him along famous guests like Jose Feliciano.

We played two songs together "I can't give you anything but love" and "Body and Soul". This is an evening I will never forget and it meant a lot to me to have shared the stage with such a legend.

Les was very kind and supportive and was introducing me to the audience by saying something like "listen to this guy and you will learn" :)
