Imagine yourself at a party where you don't know anyone. After making small talk with a few people, you notice that in the corner sits an old dusty piano that no one is playing. It keeps calling to you from across the room... maybe it's lonely? Although it's been awhile, you fancy yourself a piano player so eventually you work up the nerve to go over and introduce yourself. "Hello, I don't think we've met."

The piano stays silent, yet so seductive that before you know what's happening, you're sitting down and ready to tickle the proverbial ivories. But there's already music going in the background, so now what do you play?

Psalms:Hyssop & Snow My new CD, "Psalms: Hyssop & Snow" is now available on iTunes! Up to this point, all my recordings have been collaborations with other musicians playing music written by other composers (mostly Classical). This marks the first time I've released a full album of all of my own original compositions, based on the Book of Psalms. Special thanks to Calum Martin who contributed his wonderful vocals to the album, along with his daughter Isobel Ann Martin - Calum actually studied with me right here at ArtistWorks' Online Popular Piano School! How cool is that?

This project represents 15 years of writing arrangements for my home church. I hope you enjoy it!

It's been another busy week playing for a number of auditions and competitions with students. Spring is always a busy - and productive - time in the classical music world! One of my students just won the Philadelphia Orchestra student concerto competition - yay! Here's a view from the Kimmel Center, home of the Philadelphia Orchestra, as I was munching on some lunch getting ready to go on stage - pretty nice view, eh?
