We are proud to announce that a student of Martin Taylor's fingerstyle guitar lessons has won the Blackpool Musician of the Year award, Ally Pickering. Ally is only 16 but has talent beyond well his years.

"We've all watched Ally's dedication and progress through his many video exchanges, and it's great to see his hard work and talent recognized with this award. He is probably the most featured guitarist in our weekly Featured Video, and has made many friends and fans here at the MTGA." - Martin Taylor

We are very excited to welcome you all to the Classical Guitar School with Jason Vieaux... this is just the beginning!

“So often in Classical Music, it seems there are so many barriers to studying the art form. There are incredible institutions at which to study, but there are obviously limits as to student capacity. I want access to Classical music education to be limitless – and through my new online guitar school we have achieved that goal.” - Jason Vieaux

doc watson tribute

I first heard Doc's live Vanguard record with Merle in about 1970, and a couple months later was able to see him at the huge and wonderful  Zellerbach Concert Hall in Berkeley. Everyone was talking about him by that time! There was a very specific feeling associated with hearing Doc. There is an aliveness, and awareness to his playing which shocked me, and brought a sense of music as a living thing, which was a new thing for me.
