classical guitarJason Vieaux recently played a few classical guitar pieces in a session recorded for Houston Public Radio. He played some Bach on guitar, which you can watch here, as well as his own guitar arrangement of Duke Ellington's "In a Sentimental Mood", which is just beautiful. But my personal favorite is hearing him play Jorge Morel's classical guitar arrangement of Fernando Bustamente's "Misionera".

Martin Taylor and Guy Barker performed their Spirt of Djanjo Suite with the Britten Sinfonia on August 31st at the Royal Albert Hall in London. The evening featured six pieces composed by Taylor that were inspired by not just Djanjo Reinhardt, but also France (Djanjo's homeland), and Debussy (Djanjo's favorite composer). Click on the image below to listen to the full audio of the suite, which BBC Radio 3 will make available until Friday, September 7th.

Academy of Bluegrass Review

A recent student of Bryan Sutton's flatpick guitar lessons has written an Academy of Bluegrass review. He's only been on the site for two weeks but already has some great things to say:

"All in all, it has been nothing but a complete delight to log in each day, and there is so much fun stuff going on that it's easy to get away from the real reason for signing up..the lessons. The video quality is fantastic (think homespun dvd quality), the instruction is top notch, and Bryan has really come into his own as a thoughtful teacher whose critical lens towards flatpicking has become all the way dialed in." - Flatpickin
