We are proud of all our artists who have dedicated their time teaching students online via our online learning platform, and always happy when they find time to record new albums. Within the past 12 months, 10 out of our 25 online teaching artists are either releasing, or have already released new albums. This recent surge is more evidence that our online learning model is working - passionate students are able to access these talented musical geniuses, and the artists are able to balance teaching with recording new musicHere's what's new:

  • Tony Trischka (banjo lessons) - Great Big World released on February, 2014 (Rounder)
  • Mike Marshall and the Turtle Island Quartet - collaborative self-titled album released March 2014  (Adventure Music)
  • Darol Anger (fiddle lessons) - album with E-and'a released March, 2014 (Adventure Music)
  • Nathan East (bass lessons) - self-titled debut solo album coming March, 2014 (Yamaha Entertainment Group)
  • Scott Law (free acoustic guitar lessons) -  Black Mountain released October 2013 (Volcano Underground)
  • Martin Taylor (fingerstyle guitar lessons) - The Colonel and the Governor with Tommy Emmanuel released March, 2013 (Mesa Blue Moon)
  • Bryan Sutton (bluegrass guitar lessons) - Into My Own coming April, 2014 (Sugar Hill)
  • Jason Vieaux (classical guitar lessons) - Play released January 2014 (Azica)
  • DJ Qbert (skratch lessons) - long awaited Extraterrestria album coming soon (TBA)

The Great Guitars™ Tour with Martin Taylor, Frank Vignola, Vinny Raniolo, Peppino D’Agostino

ArtistWorks Fingerstyle Guitar School Teacher Martin Taylor will be featured on The Great Guitars™ Tour this Spring along with Frank Vignola, Vinny Raniolo, and Peppino D’Agostino. Martin has roots to the the original lineup from the 1970s which included the legendary Barney Kessel, Charlie Byrd & Herb Ellis. Having replaced Ellis in the 1980s, Martin returned to The Great Guitars Tour™ in the 2010s and is continuing the tradition with three of today's top acoustic players.

Internationally acclaimed guitarists Tommy Emmanuel and Martin Taylor recently included California State Prison-Sacramento (CSP-SAC) as a concert venue on their six-week “The Colonel and the Governor” USA performance tour.

Congratutions are in store for Martin Taylor, who has just received a prestigious Brand Laureate International Brand Personality Award - dubbed the Grammy® Awards of branding - for building an iconic brand in music. Previous recipients include Nelson Mandela, Steve Jobs, Hillary Clinton, Mark Zuckerberg, and Aretha Franklin. 

Speaking at the award presentation at the Penang Island Jazz Festival, ABPF President Dr KKJohan said: “The Asia Pacific Brands Foundation is pleased to confer The Brand Laureate International Brand Personality Award upon Dr Martin Taylor MBE for his illustrious career and contributions as a brilliant solo finger style guitarist and composer. His talents, values, skills and perseverance indeed make him a Brand Icon and inspiration to society at large.”

Following the ceremony Martin Taylor said:

“It’s a great honor to receive this award. Having spent the past 40 years touring the world with my guitar I consider it a privilege to be able to share my music with so many people.”
