Premier Guitar has posted a new interview with Martin Taylor and Tommy Emmanuel. It's a very nice, in-depth piece on the duo who have recently released a new album together, The Colonel and The Governor. They discuss their latest collaboration, as well as the art of solo guitar, their musical influences, and they also get into a discussion on the importance of guitar education. Students of Martin will be interested to hear about how he first got involved teaching online guitar lessons at Artistworks.

How to Play Fingerstyle Guitar

Are interested in learning how to play fingerstyle guitar? There are many styles of fingerstyle from Travis Picking, as popularized by Chet Atkins and later Tommy Emmanuel, to classical and flamenco styles, to ragtime and even blues fingerstyle. The one common theme of fingerstyle guitar is that it creates the illusion of multiple guitars being played at once. This is done through a method of playing bass lines, chords and melody all at once - think of it like using the guitar to sound more like the full sound of a piano.

Martin Taylor has annouced a new tour that coincides with the release of a new album with long time friend and collaborator Tommy Emmanuel, titled The Colonel & The Governor. The first date of the tour will be at the Ulster Hall in Northern Ireland on March 2nd, and the album will be released on March 4th. Click on the image (or here) for all tour dates!
