He's been teaching violin for decades, boasting the tremendous successes of his students, some of whom have gone on the study at acclaimed music institutions like Juilliard and Berklee. Through his success, Richard wants to share what he's learned with students everywhere, including you! Listen to him answer some student questions in our Q & A session!

Signing up to study Classical Violin at ArtistWorks isn't just an opportunity to access world class instructional videos, it's the chance to partner with one of the best violin instructors in the world. Using ArtistWorks Video Exchange Learning, you can send Richard a video of your playing, and you'll receive a video message in response. Richard will give you personal feedback that could only come from a master of the violin.
Take a look at one of these exchanges. Watch Mariko practice the vibrato here, and listen to Richard's expert response here. Mariko was so happy with Richard's response, she wrote:
"Thank you so much for your feedback! It's very helpful and super clear! ... I'm working on your exercise for putting down the fingers with speed and lifting with speed. I think that will help, especially now that I'm aware of it. Thanks again!"
