One of my biggest guitar influences happens to be my uncle. You can watch my uncle Jimi and me jamming together in this video. He sounds much better than I do!
The whole 13-part interview has some great stuff. I love this part where Jimi talks about how he learned his first song, "Louie Louie."
Recently, Jimi was diagnosed with cancer, and is being treated for it now. He's doing well, but the treatment is not pleasant, and I was trying to think of some ways to keep him in good spirits.
If you would like to send some words of encouragement, I made a special e-mail address for Jimi to receive "fan mail." The address is:
jimikidd_sonicbeacon@yahoo.com
Let's cheer that guy up, so he can get well, and get back to playing stunningly good guitar soon!

Check out the new interview with British shred-sensation Jacky Vincent (click on the picture or right here).
Jacky plays face-melting guitar solos in the band, "Falling In Reverse."

I had a great time talking and jamming with Danny Jacob, and you can see it all by going to the +MUSIC section of this site, or by clicking directly on this link:
I first discovered Danny from listening to this excellent album that he did in the 80s:

Here's a photo of my original cherry wood Fireman... A super thick neck and great tone.

There is more to playing a B note, than playing a B note. It must... ROCK.

It's not easy to sustain that hairstyle, but I've become better at sustaining notes. And the pose still works.

Bruce Bouillet and I spent the mid-to-late 80s playing ferocious guitar harmonies together in the band RACER X.
Bruce went on to form The Scream, became a Grammy-winning recording engineer, and also recorded and toured with the bands Epidemic and The Bottom Dwellerz. Bruce played in my live solo band on the 2007 G3 tour, and has recently released several guitar instrumental albums.
Check out this in-depth video interview that I did with Bruce here.
P.S. Here are some photos of Bruce and me, from our Racer X glory days...
