Here I am at the window of a Japanese fugu (blowfish) restaurant. The blowfish is potentially deadly to eat, if its poison is not properly removed. This photo was taken after a delicious feast of fugu, so my standing position and smile are proof of another successful poison removal. And it was delicious!

After a few days of rehearsing and tweaking, I've got my pedalboard sorted out for the Mr. Big tour. Here is the signal path:

Some guitars are so eye-catching, that the guitar player doesn't even need to be in the photo.

My boy, Marlon, is three weeks old now, and that means it's time to start introducing him to The Beatles. He seemed to like "Here Comes the Sun," "All I've Got to Do," "If I Fell," and "I Want to Hold Your Hand." He complained a bit about "Day Tripper" and "I Should Have Known Better," but I think that is probably because I didn't sing them well enough.

I learned an important lesson about ceiling fans this morning.
Do not change your shirt (with your arms in the air) when you are standing near a low-hanging ceiling fan.
My third finger got whapped pretty hard. Fortunately, it's still attached and functioning.

Although Freddie King was a blues guitar player, he was certainly a master of Rock Faces. He takes Rock Face performance one step further in this video, where he dramatically punches the air to end a note.

Please welcome to Earth: Marlon Kanzan Gilbert
He's got long fingers and a loud voice. I'm excited to show him the wonders of the planet: The Beatles, Van Halen, the narwhal, the platypus, and bending strings on an electric guitar. This is my first time to be a dad. I'm pretty excited. And much love to my wife, Emi, for doing the hard work.

Larry DiMarzio came to L.A. a couple months ago, and we did a bunch of photos and videos with his new pickup, the PAF Master. Good times and great tones! Check out the details on the DiMarzio site. (I'm on four different pages!)

And on YouTube.

If you just need a break from all those picking exercises... There is an easy solution.
Just put four picks on the end of a drill. Pull the trigger. ROCK!!!
WARNING: Keep drill bit away from hair.
Thank you,
Paul
