Back in the Studio This Week

Big Stretches

Stomping at The Budokan

Here's a photo from the last Mr. Big tour of Japan. There were giant video screens above the stage, to make us look larger than life.

That's all good, but I'm just proud to have my thumb hanging over the neck, the guitar hanging good and low, and my left leg in the middle of a mighty stomp.

Paul

Rock Face #197

I was looking at some photos from the last Mr. Big Japan tour, and this one stood out to me. What could I be thinking?

"I nailed Eric's mic stand to the floor before the show!"

"I just crushed up some dried hot peppers to put on my pizza... and then rubbed my eyes. Youch!"

Rocking the Studio

Album Rehearsals Begin

Today I moved my favorite gear to a nearby rehearsal studio, so my band and I could start rehearsing for our recording sessions next week. It was our first time to play the songs with drums, so it felt great to crank up and ROCK. I even brought my Makita drill with 4-pick "drill bit," just in case I need to get crazier than my usual solos.

Home, Sweet... Pedalboard

Beyond Stereo

My tinkering won't stop. I added one more pedal (a TC Electronic Vortex Flanger mini), and now the pedalboard can run three amps. (I asked the promoters to provide me with three amps, so I've got to use them!) The signal path is:

Dunlop Jimi Hendrix Signature Wah

TC Electronic PolyTune 2 mini

Fulltone Deja Vibe

MXR Phase 90 Script with LED

MXR Distortion Plus

TC Electronic MojoMojo Overdrive
