Here is a photo of my boy, Marlon, as he pulls my guitar across the floor. He likes me to play "Fire" by Jimi Hendrix while running around the room so we can chase each other. Other Marlon favorites are "Surfin' U.S.A.," "Can't Buy Me Love," "Rockaway Beach," and "Pinball Wizard." I'm making sure that he has lots of exposure to "Dad Rock."
Happy Father's Day!

I've been having fun with this "mystery pedal" from Way Huge. Jeorge Tripps, the designer, seems reluctant to tell me what it will be called, but in the meantime, I'm enjoying the sparsely labeled box and the thwunky tone. Hopefully he'll unveil the production model soon.
Thank you,

I've nearly reached my 4000th Video Exchange here at the ArtistWorks Online Rock Guitar School.
Whoever is reaches that magic number will win my Ibanez PGM80P. I've toured the world with this guitar, and it's a great one!
I couldn't do these Video Exchanges without YOU, so I appreciate everyone who has submitted them over the years.
Thank you!

Clarke Robinson always plays great, and this month his delivers the goods with a rock face of obvious sincerity.
Bending strings is the usual method for achieving rock faces, but It was the B7/F# chord from Elton John's "Someone Saved My Life Tonight" that made it happen this time. Never underestimate the power of a pop piano chord banged out convincingly on a guitar.
Great job, Clarke!
Thank you,
Paul

I took a rare day off to celebrate my wife's birthday, and get some fresh air in the forest. It was great to refresh my brain for the coming week of...

I found this old photo of when I was collecting vintage Ibanez guitars on ebay. Do two Flying V's make a Flying W? Acually Ibanez's model name for these guitars was "Rocket Roll II." Whatever the name... they rock!
Thank you,

This photo was taken backstage at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium where Mr. Big was on the bill with Winger and King's X. Also pictured are Jake E. Lee, Rocky George, and members of Europe.
My hair won't really do what it did back then. Thankfully my fingers are still in good shape.

The Fireman is a large-bodied Electric Brontosaurus of a guitar. I made some time to organize my studio, and I certainly enjoyed putting this collection together. Thank you, Ibanez, for building these!
Rock and Roll,
Paul
