Since getting back from China I've been busy in my studio filming video responses for my students here at ArtistWorks and also finding time to record tracks on my 1969 Conde Hermanos classical guitar.

Hi folks... I'm back from a very enjoyable week in Beijing, China.

I was invited to give a concert and masterclass at the Wood Road Acoustic Guitar Festival and also judge the Beijing Acoustic Guitar Competition.

Also performing at the festival was the brilliant German guitarist Soenke Meinen, Karlijn Langendijk from the Netherlands, and Japanese fingerstyle guitarist Yuki Matsui.

The Scottish National Jazz Orchestra is delighted to welcome world renowned jazz guitarist Martin Taylor to perform the music of Django Reinhardt, one of the most perennially popular figures in jazz, for three concerts in Scotland this September.

I will be performing in Paris/Saint Ouen on Saturday June 10th with Didier Lockwood and Marcel Azzola at the Festival Jazz-Musette.

It would be great to say hi to any of my French students that plan coming along to the show.

Just let me know and I will arrange for us to meet.

On Sunday 4th June I'm playing a solo concert at the INNtöne Festival, Linz, Austria.

It would be great to meet any of my ArtistWorks students that live in, or nearby Linz.

If any of my Danish students are in Denmark on October 5th, 6th, 7th, 2017, we'll be performing at the world famous Montmartre Jazzclub.

Ulf and I will also be back in Asia in December 2017. The only confirmed dates at the moment are the Cotton Club, Tokyo, Japan on Dec 16th & 17th.

Other shows in Korea, Singapore and Hong Kong are yet to be confirmed, so whatch this space for more infromation as it comes in.

I'm sad to report the death of the English guitar genius Allan Holdsworth. Allan was one of the most influentail electric guitarists of all time.
